FAQ

Flexible solar panels are lightweight, thin photovoltaic modules made from bendable materials (like thin-film silicon or mono/polycrystalline cells laminated on polymer substrates). They can conform to curved surfaces (e.g., RV roofs, boats, tents), unlike rigid glass panels.

High-quality flexible panels now achieve 15%-22% efficiency, close to rigid panels (18%-23%). While slight gaps may exist, their advantages (lightweight, install versatility) often outweigh minor efficiency differences for mobile/curved applications.

Most are semi-walkable (IP67/IP68 rated) but not designed for heavy traffic. Avoid sharp impacts. For high-abuse areas (e.g., boat decks), choose panels with ETFE coating (scratch-resistant) and reinforced substrates.

Bending radius varies by model (typically ≥30° arc). Ours support curvature up to 30 degrees (e.g., 250W panel: min. bend radius 0.5m). Always check specs before bending.

All solar panels lose efficiency at high temps. Flexible panels have lower temperature coefficients (e.g., -0.3%/°C vs. -0.4%/°C for rigid), meaning better performance in hot climates. Ensure 1-2 inch airflow under panels.

Yes! Our panels are IP68-rated (submersion-proof) and salt-spray certified (IEC 61701), ideal for marine use. Use marine-grade sealant for cable connections.
